    potterton, s plan, system fault

cheers Matty, sombody did mention that was possible, but if the problem was with the motor or microswitch then it would destroy the replaced items anyway, so best to change valve completely, thanks anyway (MEERKAT) ---------- Post Auto-Merged at 19:20 ---------- Previous post was made at 19:18...

    potterton, s plan, system fault

thanks Doc, and theory, logical approach to the diagnoses is, customer has a leak at the boiler calls out a plumber, plumber replaces a potterton boiler, with a Baxi boiler, he also replaces the PCB, I presume he must have damaged it or it just gave up the ghost, plumber leaves, a few months...

    potterton, s plan, system fault

Hi, fault on a Potterton S plan sytem, the HW and CH circuits are both on continually, I havent actually seen the job yet, my thoughts are: one or both motorised valves stuck open, or wiring fault between room stat and CH valve and or wiring fault between Cylinder Stat and HW Valve, or...

Hi Manator, would the 3.83 max Zs reading then be multiplied by 0.8 to account for the thermal increase under fault conditions, cheers (MEERKAT)

2330 level 3 unit 303 fault finding practical

Hi Moggy, Ring final circuit test in 3 parts (1) End 2 End, r1 0.02, rn 0.02, r2 0.03, (2) Figure 8, L/N, you will get a reading equal to (r1 0.02) + (rn 0.02) /4 = 0.01ish (3) Figure 8, L/E, You will get an open circuit with your probes in the L and E of the R1/R2 Box fitted to the socket...

    Hi Matty, I make it Ib = P/V = 4500/230 = 19.56 Amps In = MCB (B) 20 Amp Ref Method = D (buried) Correction Factors = Cc 0.9 (Buried cable) It = In/CF's = 20/0.9 = 22.22 Amps Iz = table 4E4A 6mm = 53 Amps, (6mm cable reqd due to Volt drop) Fault protection formula = Ib is less or equal...

2391 question.Making home made test board

Hi Paul, I am just finishing the 2330 this july (3yr cse) and I have the 2392 qualification aswell, I am 49 years old and retraining as I retire from the fire service in 2012. Its a difficult call wether to do the 2391 or the 2392, I wouldnt put myself through the 2391 to do pat testing alone...

    CABLE CALCS

Hi Chris, thanks for your help I do now understand how this works and I am keen to learn how all the smaller pieces fit into the bigger picture, thanks to you, steptoe, Special location and PC electrics for your input, cheers (MEERKAT) :)

    CABLE CALCS

Hi Plumber, this is what I was trying to say in my original answer to soulman's post, so diversity only affects the load, diversity is only used when considering a group of circuits as found in a CU, where not all of the capacity of every circuit is being used, therefore we wouldnt reduce the...

    CABLE CALCS

Hi Plumber, well not sure I understand any of this anymore, using the circuit in soulman's post is special saying that we could reduce the C/C/C by a third using diversity, or can diversity only be used in a commercial/industrial environment? cheers for your help (MEERKAT) :)

    CABLE CALCS

Hi SL, I was told at college that the only single circuit where diversity played a part was the cooker circuit, I thank you for your input and would like to understand more about this subject. Using the lighting circuit in soulman's post, is it feasable to reduce the C/C/C of the cable by 33%...

    CABLE CALCS

Hi PC Electrics, I think this is a single circuit cable calculation only, no diversity involved. In a consumer unit where there are several circuits, the main supply cable and its protective device are calculated using Maximum demand and diversity, using the tables found in Appendix 1 of the...
