    Vans- what you got

The Transporters are good vans. The same mate who has the Vito, had 3 Transporters before. He did have a few problems from time to time, the biggest/most annoying was an electrical fault, where the electrical power would just cut out while driving - very dangerous! :o The main dealer could...

    standby genny

Hi there, Ideally, use a UPS to smooth the supply. If the load is only 2KW then something like a 3KVA or 5KVA unit, and get the generator to feed this. Alot of UPS's will have a contactor to remote start the genie when power has failed. O.

I've just swapped out my old worcester... unique in its design... no divertor valve, just two pumps! After spending nearly 200 quid trying to fix it, I cut my losses and bought a new boiler... a nice vaillant 837 plus unit :D O.

    SPT-2 wire

most the chargers you see on ebay are people who bought from the states, and then fitted a commando plug. I've done the same and use it with my tranny. It works fine, i'll have to check and see what make of plug i used - but it grips the cable fine - ideally you'd change the cable over too - to...

    Illuminated light switch

I'm talking about the sort of switch the OP is after... for that to illuminate when the switch is on, will require a neutral (unless its in series :o ) Agree for it to illuminate when off, a "changeover" arrangement would suffice - but again not be ideal - give me a neutral anyday! O.

    Illuminated light switch
