    HIGH PEFC??

Why do you think theres no point? Uk Annex ZA is used where specific requirements are met, its mainly used in the domestic scenario. Where Annex ZA does not apply then Reg 434.5.1 will need to be met.

    Uploading

Some of the file are quite large, though they would be very useful to a lot of people. I think there must be a way, seen a few downloads which i would expect to be largish files? ---------- Post Auto-Merged at 11:53 ---------- Previous post was made at 11:52 ---------- Thanks, yes i did...

    The Dreaded C50 MCBS

Sidewinder, i think what Slip Slap is saying will be the fact that if your connecting to equipment already installed, some knowledge will be required for design, how ever as you say if your connecting direct to the supply then its wise to work to the worst case scenario, this will cover any...

    The Dreaded C50 MCBS

Whats the PFC at that point in the installation ? It wont tell you much. Whats the expected PFC at the point of the new DB? Id be careful using the let through energy values, where protective devices are in series, manufacturers info will be required to see what levels of current limiting are...

    Sorry misread ESQCR Guidance

    Bit of help please.

Id have to disagree there steps, ESQCR requires all equipment installed within the installation to comply with BS7671, so that will include protection to the meter tails.

    Current carrying capacity for SWA

I always do, hence why we are posting not to assume that equipment can be connected to 90 C swa, as in the majority of instances equipment will be rated to less.

    Current carrying capacity for SWA

Canoe, i wasn't referring to the SWA, as i said in my earlier post XPLE is part of the standard for SWA so most will be at 90 C. As for Seimans i think you will find that much of there stuff is rated less than 90 C, more like 75 C, and as i said some may be rated to 90. Hager, MK, Legrand...

    Current carrying capacity for SWA

I think you will find most are rated to 70 C, but certainly not all, so you need to be careful. Most MCB MCCBs are rated at 70 C, busbars on the other hand can run at temperature in excess of 70 C due to the fact is just a copper block with no insulation, the issue comes when people need to...

    A BIT OF A PUZZLER !!

Sometimes the steel may already be in place(structural), you may utilize this for bonding to save costs. The heating issue can be a problem, i suppose it far easier just to use an extra core.

    A BIT OF A PUZZLER !!

For a bonding conductor you use the copper equivalence, now steel is around 8 to 1, so PME 10mm copper would require a copper equivalent of 80mm steel, neither 6mm or 10mm csa armor meets this requirement. There is an issue with using the armor in PME for bonding, this is due to the possible...

    A BIT OF A PUZZLER !!

Im afraid neither the 10mm or 6mm swa armor will meet the requirements for PME main bonding

    cable size for 3phase

Based on the design current, max operating temp will be 72 C through ducting, terminals assuming 30 C ambient will be around 45 C. Utilizing the Xple allows for this increase in temp through the ducting. Although in saying that im pretty sure all swa is now xple.

    A forum with respect!

Not yet, but they are looking towards creating a community for electricians and alike, though IET membership will be required. Im happy with the way this forum runs, as i said you could make an area for electricians only, but would there be a high level of posts, im not so sure. Sometimes you...
