    China crucibles

For the lighting junction boxes on the rig here scruits are used instead of strip connectors. I agree with southsparks, I also think they can be better than strip connectors. Sometimes they do their job so well they can be a bit of a mare to undo.

    P.A.T Testing

Good day people, how are you all? Iv got a small question regarding P.A.T testing. I know that to pat test you dont have to be a qualified electrician but what qualifications do you need to legally perform this task? I have been asked by the man upstairs if i would start doing it again but I...

    French Electrics

As far as im led to believe it is wired in uk spec in Kuwait. Its a land rig im heading for though so the chances are itl be american wiring systems. Can cause problems as they use black as the live in single phase installations, although since we became "harmonized" it has got a little less...

Well folks, the evening I started this thread, "Real spark" appeared on the doorstep armed and ready to finish the shower. Fair enough I thought and left him to it. Rcbo or breaker

Hello all hope you are keeping well. As my domestic knowledge is still slim to none I need a little info from your good selves. I have recently moved into a flat that had no shower. My flat mate bought a nice little mira shower and asked a "real sparK" to install it for him. The " real spark...

Hello M107, I encountered a startedr from that era last year on a pillar drill my boss thought would be a "good investment" although it wasnt a soft start. I changed it out for Brook Crompton starter. The good investment has since been scrapped.

I urgently needed a few days off work, but I knew the Boss would not allow me to take leave.. I thought that maybe if I acted 'CRAZY' then he would tell me to take a few days off. So I hung upside down on the ceiling and made funny noises. My co-worker asked me what I was doing. I told him...

    Stanley Knives

Cheers sparkss but I was maybe a little vague. ALL knives are banned, even the tiny little swiss army ones you can use as a key ring, no joke. Health and safety would ban blinking if they had a sniff of a complaint from somebody regarding it!!!

    Stanley Knives

I dont know what the rules are in the domestic side of the game but in the oil and gas industry knives are big no no. For about 3 years I secretly kept my trusted stanley t***** in my side pocket of my boiler suit and used when the coast was clear. But the problem has got worse when a...
