    cables behind architraves/doorcasings

I once found a 6mm T+E feeding a cooker had been run in a channel gouged out behind the door-stop, the pins of which were hammered in on the very edge. I had removed the door-stop with a chisel (as you do!)very lucky not to have gone straight through said cable. As our LABC say's built by an...

    makita angle drill 18V LXT

Great tool, got one last year, have used it on 20 or so jobs so far. I also bought some stubby bits, 16,20,22mm and the same in 190mm length. Wouldn't be without it now. With good quality bits this flies through 100mm of joist with minimal effort, no need to drill at angle - makes pulling cable...

    Might be going to court!

Note to all.... The first thing to know is that in UK law there is no need to have a written contract except for dealings in land - this is statuary and cannot be overidden by a Court, so a claim would not be thrown out just for having no written contract. For a contract to exist in its...

CU change with no lighting cpc.

No chance of running seperate CPC then. I often find no CPC visible, but on checking cable have found cpc just cut away - if enough slack this can often be reinstated You may already have thought of this, just trying to help ---------- Post Auto-Merged at 13:16 ---------- Previous post was...

    twin and earth used outside

Generally manufacturers recommend that grey T+E should not be used where it will be exposed to sunlight as this degrades the PVC and drastically shortens its life. There is black PVC T+E available which is designed to be exposed as such. FP200 or HO7 good options

    TNC-S earth to external building?

Steps, your theory as always stands up to scrutiny, however you mention 'upgrading' to TT, in Bristol, Western Power do not allow TT, and will not provide a supply unless it comes with PME, in the city at all, only in rural/semi-rural locations. Don't ask me why, I cant get an answer either!!
