Glad to have helped!
Have you signed up for the saving sessions? It's well worth it, Ive earned over £100 in three sessions by discharging batteries into the grid during a saving session, rewards are high!
As per Murdoch's reply, I would ask your installer to have another look, it may be some odd earthing arrangement etc. I still feel it's more likely to be a car issue than the Zappi for reasons stated earlier.
I personallty dont see how it can be the Zappi causing the problem. All it does is talk to the car and pickup a relay at the appropriate time supplying 240v to the EV after safety checks have been performed.
I'm suggesting it's not a level playing field for whatever reason. I see little difference in a mechanic adding a socket and an electrician changing a brake calliper. Both present potential danger to the user and the public at large yet one is illegal and the other isn't.
But where does all this nanny state stuff stop? Should you electricians be allowed to change a wheel on you van or work on the brakes for instance? The potential to kill / injure people in the event of maintenance / installation being carried out by non certified mechanics is just the same or worse.
What rating and characteristic?
Zappi doesnt do very much that could trip a fuse, it's really only a switch that if conditions are right switches power on to the EV. Just out of interest does it ever trip the MCB when the car isnt connected?
Is it the MCB thats tripping or an RCD?
What size MCB is it thats tripping and what characteristic?
What makes you so sure it's Zappi thats tripping it and not the car?
A Degree and HNC demonstrate the holders ability to learn and understand subject matter studied, so I doubt he's being naïve in stating his qualifications.
It's not debatable, electric cars are LESS LIKELY to catch fire than petrol or diesel ones. The only thing with an EV, if it's a battery fire theres no putting it out, it has to burn up the energy remaining in it. The fire however is localised and wont run down a line of cars on the road like...
