It's not debatable, electric cars are LESS LIKELY to catch fire than petrol or diesel ones. The only thing with an EV, if it's a battery fire theres no putting it out, it has to burn up the energy remaining in it. The fire however is localised and wont run down a line of cars on the road like leaking petrol or diesel does.
