Mine was brand new. Giving Ze on pme 0.00  ohms. Back up old calibrated test kit singles proved otherwise. 

Even choc blocked one leg out of the c/u to see if any difference. Trip trip.  Gotta go back so I'll retest fresh eyes N all as they say at least they got power and it's a better state than found. 

Dropped another isolator in replace of the rcd. So no integrity now. And circuits being tested was completely  dropped off all bars no connections.  End to ends were all around 0.35. And 0.55 cpc There was. But double pole spurs was switched off

Old topic but been a long slog to get this sorted. Anyhow.  After sending test instrument back my 1654B apparently did show up a fault in there lab. Which didn't show up the 1st time. Odd as it showed up in field use. Anyhow 3rd time round both circuit boards been replaced. Not a new machine...

No didn't check the fuse, cheers for replies, it's gone back to fluke land today I'll advise back here what the issue was if any, but brand new leads and fused probes, along with using backup test kit and getting stable results I think there is an issue,

Great stuff guys. megger seems way high. clamp both live conductors. phase & neutral .  ??? thought just leakage to earth was best for checking ????. 

Hi guys. n gals lol Got an issue with some operated 13a plugged machines tripping out rcbo's on the ring.  What's best practice for checking earth Leakage.   megger type or equivalent meter clamped around the cpc earth only. 

All will be ok. 18th edition released July 2018 will have all the answers lol. get it all packed in before brexit. Lol.
