Not seen one of these before.

Try a barbers chair, old dental chair. Just a thought with no real conviction.

    Emergency lighting

There are many views on this, high risk area emergency lighting is probably the only type of emergency lighting where a definition of the time required to maintain the light is mentioned. Basically it says that it has to "kick in" within 0.5 seconds and maintain 10% of the normal lighting for as...

I think I have found a renewable energy source

To get the full tank of compressed air, let us say it takes 100 units of energy. Then let us release this energy step by step at 20 units of energy which is used to supply the motor. Of this 20 units of energy half is wasted in conversion, that means that for every 20 units of energy produced...

I think I have found a renewable energy source

I think that most replies have been very polite thus far. I think it is exemplary that you have not only thought out an idea, but without patent come on a public forum to discuss it. I would not worry about anyone stealing your idea, after all it is over 100 years old. Most perpetual engines...

Electrical Installation Condition Report - Help!

Claire see Here for more information and guidance. I would get quotes from at least three electrical contractors.

Electrical Installation Condition Report - Help!

We are forgetting that the cables are not 2.5mm, they are imperial. The tester has given the nearest metric size. So it could be that the cables installed are capable of carrying over 30amps in which case the certificate is wrong.

Electrical Installation Condition Report - Help!

I agree with Andy. I would ask where the potential danger exists and the regulation that confirms this.

Claire just to clarify are all your electrical cables Red and Black?

Electrical Installation Condition Report - Help!

The certificate is void, as it is wrong, for instance you have stated that there is gas and water bonding, you have stated that there is no immersion heater. The codes refer to protection via 32amp breakers and yet your board does not contain any?? I am a NICEIC qualified supervisor and my...

Electrical Installation Condition Report - Help!

Without seeing the actual report it would be hard to comment, having said that it looks like the electrician is not competent to carry out such a report. Could you scan the report and post it here removing your address for security reasons.

    A board I wouldn't use again .

I really do think that you should read all comments in full. Speed reading leads to the assumptions you have come to use.

I wish I could double scoob, what an excellent answer.

    A board I wouldn't use again .

I know this is directed at SBS Dave, however I would like to contribute. Use the de-scoob button when you have read all of my reply. Workmanship, this is not down to the manufacturer as this is a set procedure using BS standards, so that is down to the installer. You like, or you do not...

I find this kind of stuff nonsense to be honest

No it clearly states that bonding should be applied as per BS7671. If you read Robs post properly you will see that he mentions acops, this is self explanatory really when defining what is and what is not law.

I find this kind of stuff nonsense to be honest

If you read the gas regulations it states the bare facts and then refers to BS7671. There is often talk about what the regulations actually mean and how they are both intended and understood or interpreted. All this to coin a phrase you used is Tosh, as it is not statute law it is only...

I find this kind of stuff nonsense to be honest

Actually they can not specify what size they want. The Gas regulations only cover Gas. All bonding should be done in accordance with BS7671 so it therefore follows that BS7671 supersedes anything the Gas regs say.

    A board I wouldn't use again .

My personal opinion is that it is neat, but not as neat as it should be, the earths have to be removed for testing and why there is a slight bend in each one. Not pretty but essential.
