    Good ole Eastern Europeans

then ... So you'd be saying this then ... So this install was poor because they were from Manchester?

    Good ole Eastern Europeans

Correct, but it's you getting on your moral high horse trying to make a racial issue out of this. To reiterate, the OP is just stating a fact.  Would you be spouting off if was a couple of white, British 5WWs who had done this work?

    Good ole Eastern Europeans

Yet again you're falling for the 'correlation proves causation' trap. The OP has only made an observation that some EEs have done some ropey work.

Solar UK market; Is it dead? What’s your opinion?

It used to be pulverised into a fine dust by monstrous milling machines, then blown into the furnaces. I've seen them at Ferrybridge years ago. Whether it's now ground even finer now, I've no idea.

    SY, CY, YY cable

Hahaha, now why doesn't that surprise me! My thinking, having looked at all the links posted, you can use it for fixed wiring but it's preferable to use 'regular' cables.

    SY, CY, YY cable

Has anyone got access to this ... http://shop.bsigroup.com/ProductDetail/?pid=000000000030256212 It might contain the definitive answer. I'll try and see if I can get a look at it next week, if only just to satisfy my own curiosity! :-)

    Large house advice

Just replace the 60A fuse with 100A one, that'll cover any nuisance power cuts.

    SY, CY, YY cable

SY, CY, YY control cables are not suitable for fixed wiring applications requiring compliance with the requirements set out in BS7671.

    Ring r1r2 test

    OK Andy, At 9 and 3 o'clock you have red in parallel with black, r1 || r2, which is (r1*r2)/(r1+r2) At 12 and 6 o'clock you have (r1/2 + r2/2) || (r1/2 + r2/2) = (r1+r2)/4 Stick the numbers for a 100m of 2.5mm T&E and see what you get.

    Ring r1r2 test

Rob, You need to interpret the result. If r1=r2, then the last line equals 0 and RE does indeed equal RM, both conductors with same csa, so R1+R2 is the same wherever you measure it, this is undisputed.  Look at it as a special case. However, if r1<>r2 (different csa cables), the last...

    Ring r1r2 test

If you're saying that the resistance increases from the inter-connection to the furthest point, you are correct (for r1<>r2). But like you say, the increase is small, you'd just lose it in measurement error. I've got a mathematical proof somewhere if you're really interested!!! :-)

    Reducing Condensation

Is your instrument air truly dry? It could be moisture in the actuators' exhaust condensing out.
