    Your thoughts on EICR

most things can be rectified, sometimes the money is better spent upgrading. Sounds like he just isnt interested in upgrading it then....... WIth the failed sheet you could try and find someone that can price to rectify and suply an EICR with a satisfactory result. would want to compare that...

    C&G 2330 / Test & Inspection

2391 / 2394/5     goes into far more detail then 2330. I think should have 2391 or 4/5 to do an EICR

Without been able to see the detail .... 1- could it be rectified with a tube of Intumastic fire stop gear. The blank could be made good or add an MCB and remove the blank.    2- I don’t code plastic consumer units C2..... though some do and raises a discussion. mentions hole in the back...

    Zs measured value

My experiance with my megga mft1730 -3 wire low current test ZS gave large results when going through an RCD After that I would take Ze 2 wire high current, then add it to R1+R2, which is still by measurement as both have been measured. I received an update to the software so it could then do...

Detailed pictures of the board would help us work out if they could be rectified wouthout changing the board. Sometimes changing the board offers better value. My initial thoughts are,  the items could be rectified OR it is in such a bad state he has pulled up thing on it because it would be...

Wiring installed by Mr OTT .

did a 'Smart' house once, every area to be switched had its own circuit back to a 'iLight' dimming board by the consumer unit. Was actually 4 or 6 ilight dimminng units fed from one of the 3 consumer units. Some rooms had 1-4 lighting circuits depending on its lighting, each room had a switch...

    OK I'm getting lost .

I thought sockets now have to be RCD protected,  in the old days of the 17th you could have them without RCD providing you signed your name to say its all your fault.

    Van substitute and storage

I have avoided London for the last few years, I was talking to my friend today... His 4 year old caddy costs him to work in central London..... £25 per day on congestion and LEZ £9 per hour on parking  which is inflated for diesel, if he had a petrol it would be 50% less He could save £40 a...

    Van substitute and storage

I am the person who puts my vehicle in and asks for everything to be done. I buy proper tyres, i dont scrimp on any vehicle parts ever. Van substitute and storage

The reason i got A new van was because i couldnt afford to be off work due to a brake down. My T4 had a clutch pedal bracket brake. The chaos it caused to me for 10 days from the day it happened, to getting it back cost me a few days wages. The cost of my van is something i factor into my...

    Smart meters

There is no legal requirement to have a smart meter. They want us to have them so they can collect data on consumption. Energy suppliers will offer you a better tarif if you get a smart meter as an incentive to get you to have one. I will not be getting one.

Any views on the Pimlico Plumbers case this week?

I thought i heard Mr Pimlico say that the emplyee earnt almost £500k in his time with them. I wonder how he would feel if HMRC back dated his taxation to that of an emplyed person, meaning he would earn less (have to give HMRC a big lump)
