    Temp Event System - 7909

Hi all just after some of your opinions - on a temporary install (event) do distribution circuits have to be RCD protectected? Finals would be (30mA). If all distribution circuits are effectively out of reach or in rated ramps with competent persons on site. Thanks All

    2.5 spurred from 6.0

Any future alteration would have to adhere to the regs so a reasonable competent person wouldn't have inspected what he was altering wouldn't he? I have done this and labeled the socket and made the required notes as well as everything else on the cert. Which if this ever landed at your feet...

    LABC Part P help please

I would contact the LABC and explain the situation. They may be happy with you certifying compliance if not get a registered sparky in to do the work it will likely be cheaper and faster than getting the LABC to do it. Good luck

    increasing IR

Had a job today that was a bit different, a tripped out RCD due to the bad weather and a leaky joint in the garden and whilst carrying out a few tests on the circuit I found the IR to be around 2.7 then gradually getting higher 2.8, 2.9,3.5 and 5 etc, I'm pretty sure that I know what was going...

    cooker polarity

Hi all, Is there any reason that reversed polarity should cause an intermittent fault on a convection single oven with no fan- the fault appears to be that when the oven reaches 230 ish degrees it then takes out the RCD ! All the usual tests carried out on the supply and a PA test carried out...
