    3 Phase Motor 2.5mm 30A Mcb

Yes, I'm now thinking I may be wrong having thought about it, but for some reason I felt I had come across this in the past, still felt Code 3 more appropriate though. I gather it's a small hydraulic single lift installed some 20 years ago, 3 phase  motor, wired with 2.5mm SWA to a 30A Mcb.

    3 Phase Motor 2.5mm 30A Mcb

So today had a call from another contractor asking if a 3 Phase Lift Motor wired in 2.5mm on a 30A Mcb was a Code 2. Cable undersized for fuse rating, should be 20A or cable size increased. Now I replied it's ok from memory, having dealt with this before many moons ago, as across 2 phases 400V...

    50V On Garage Earth

As one of the older Electricians on this forum, what is it about the younger ones that they feel they must argue or disagree about every detail when someone posts and then with each other. I still find things I did'nt know after 44 years is this trade. If I don't know something I welcome the...

    Smoke Detectors

But that standard was set before Detectors with 5 Year batteries were a available. It's technology and moving with times, when something comes along then the standards should move with times and say mains operated or 5 year battery minimum.

    Smoke Detectors

If they should be replaced every 5 years regardless, and you can now buy them with 5 year built in batteries, why should they have to have mains supply. Is just head in the sand stuff. Apparently some LBC accept this.

    Do Not Switch Off

My thoughts were surely the label should be suffice and I had assumed for the best part of my life that these were "Lock Off Kits" and not "Lock on Kits" Whats stopping someone applying locks to both devices thinking they are doing right. I don't believe "Locked On" can be acceptable  in any...

    Niceic Brcs Website

Should be back up by 10:30pm tonight, but I'm not bothering then. I contacted Domainmonsters.com, who replied saying they were in contact with the owners. If the are going to market the use of online services they must offer 24Hr support, we don't all have weekends off.

How Many People Test L-N Loop With Rcbo's?

Amtech and NICEIC certificate software input max ZS limitation once you enter the RCD details, so maybe that's why.

Why Can't We Put 4Kwp On Every House?

What makes me laugh is people against the Tory government think their party would do the things they are not happy with different, wrong they would exactly the same regarding the key factors that need to be controlled, or else the country would sink. However what all the other parties would do...

    Windows 10

2 X 21" for me, great for pricing, plans on one screen and estimating program on the other, or invoicing on one and worksheet on the other, if I had room on the desk I would have 3  :) So far not 1 issue with W10 very stable, and after installing SSD on the desktop its as fas as a Mac  :innocent

    Parallels 11 On Macbook Pro

I've been using a Macbook Pro since January for out and about stuff and resisting using any programs that need to run on Windows. Obviously the desktop with W10 on it runs all our business software, but occasionally I have wanted to access it when using the Mac, like my accounting program or...

non cert, certs (are 'logo headed certificates required?)

Yet clients seem happy to pay plumbers around £10 more per hour for knowing less, having less kit, doing no courses, knew I should have chosen the plumbing trade.

    Third Party Certification

Seriously what possibly would you need to go back to college for, you know all the basics. When the 17th came about I was told the older generation would not need to do any course or tests, but that did not go down well with the younger generation apparently so it was decided that all should...
