A little confused on wiring diagram for heating.

Cheers Tim. There's a radiator system as well which I'm happy with. 2 zone valves (rads and ufh). I'm starting to quite enjoy heating systems, now I'm beginning to understand them more. It helps that the plumber is a really nice chap, so we can talk it through.

A little confused on wiring diagram for heating.

So.. I've drawn it out. It doesn't make sense to me, but I think this is because I don't know what is going on in the internal electrics of the ufh control centre. Basically I have drawn out the pump and valve exactly as in the diagram. I have also put a link between L (mains in) and C (heat)...

A little confused on wiring diagram for heating.

Brilliant Tim.. thankyou! I do have a few more questions, but that has certainly helped. I'll draw out my own wiring diagram a bit later and post it up, just to double check I'm right.

Thanks for the reply. It's the wiring diagram for the control center of an Underfloor heating system (heatmiser UH8-RF)

A little confused on wiring diagram for heating.

Good evening all. I haven't wired up many heating systems. I am a little confused as to why the following diagram does not show a neutral going to the boiler? Also, the boiler needs a permanent live (PL) but in the diagram it has the grey conductor going to it from the under floor heating...

    Favourite job?

I like remote out buildings.. A nice large shed, away from the house and neighbours. Customers are either out, or completely leave you alone. Preferably a bit of sun, but not too much. Radio on, very happy 😊

    Minor electrical certificate

Good spot! It was just the form that changed in 2018, the title was still the long winded one. Plus, you're quite right, keep it simple, we all know what a MWC is. I shall start saying that again :) .

    Minor electrical certificate

It's changed from that @Andy™ . It changed a few years back from a MWC to a MEIWC. Either in 2018 or 2022. It's now a more expansive form than the MWC with an annoyingly long title. See Appendix 6 BS7671 2018 (2022) page 513.

    Minor electrical certificate

I believe anyone can fill out a Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate (MEIWC). There are no legal requirements and you do not have to be a registered electrician. However, the problem occurs when a problem occurs. Excuse the unintentional pun. If there is ever a problem with the work...

    Any electricians here in Cheltenham?

Bit of a long shot, but if there are any electricians in (or near) Cheltenham, would they like a job fitting a replacement oven for an elderly gentleman? I knew I shouldn't have answered the phone to a code that is outside of my working radius! I just don't want to do it as it is too far. 89...

    What a nice customer.

2 weeks ago a customer who I have done jobs for in the past, asks me to fit an extra wall light in the living room, this light will come on with the other wall lights. I do the pre-works visit and all looks simple enough. The new wall light will go very close to a switch which has a neutral in...

Whos job is it to mount an electric shower

Each shower change is different (if you are working with a different plumber). My last shower involved 2 visits as the plumber asked me to completely disconnect it and make it safe for him to work on, which is a reasonably request. He then fitted the shower, bringing in the cable where I had...

    Hi from DPG

I'm exactly the same Tim. I'd like to press one of them but haven't built up the courage yet incase I offend someone, as I haven't got a clue what they mean. I shall ask my 16 year old son 😀

    Quinetic Switches

I have used Quinetic. So far I have had no problems with them. The customer was using the switch around 30m away from the receiver (which was placed in a weatherproof box). There are other cheaper brands out there which use kinetic energy but I have stuck to the well known brand 'Quinetic' to...

    Just saying hello.

I just think it's all very silly, a bit like dealing with a child that's having a tantrum. It is a shame though as you do get attached to somewhere you have been for a long time. Like a child having a tantrum you just ignore it and go away, you can't reason with them as they don't have the...
