    Test Certificate Form Filling Question

Many thanks again guys for all your help. I am happy with how to test the RCD, that's not what I am having a problem with however. The bit I am uncertain about ( and I'm keen to learn to do it correctly) is where the results of the test of the appropriate RCD are recorded on the form. Lets say...

    Test Certificate Form Filling Question

One, hopefully last question. On the test results I assume each of the circuits needs to be subjected to the RCD test, both 1x and 5x, at 0' and 180' ( so 4 tests in all)? And, on the 'Test button function' there is a box to tick for each of any circuits tested. Does this mean that the test...

    Test Certificate Form Filling Question

Doc Yes, the onsite guide book does have some example certificates. Some of my problem is related to having what I believe is a Generic EIC pad, and I'm unsure at the moment if every single column needs to be filled in or not, things have changed somewhat from when I did my 2391 course back in...

R1+R2 On Lighting Circuit With 2 Way Switching

If I have 2 way switching on a lighting circuit, this will mean that R1 will be a larger resistance due to the extra conductor lenght. When completing an EIC, although I have provided the feed to that circuit in 1.5mm T&E, The 3C+e is 1.0mm, so what should I put in the form for the size of...

    Shower Isolation Switch Position

I'm still here by the way. :C Very many thanks for all the input. I have always fitted a shower isolation switch when installing an electric shower. My understanding is that it is to provide a convenient means of isolating the neutral in the event of a fault, and isolate any items requiring...

    Shower Isolation Switch Position

I would be grateful if someone could let me know if a shower isolation switch ( the shower is to be fitted above a bath) is required to be in the room where the shower is fitted, or can it be fitted elsewhere. In this instance there is a cupboard outside the bathroom and I was thinking of...

    Flickering Light

Thank you Steptoe, I now have a definite answer: "CFL's are reactive to inducted currents/voltages" I shall attempt to explain this reality to my customer and suggest she fits a filament lamp.

    Flickering Light

I am curious when you consider them suitable as you say they are not always suitable. I would still like to understand the reason for the flickering though, does the starting characteristics of the CFL cause more arcing and deterioration of the switch contacts ?

    Flickering Light

The reason I tagged this question on the end of the thread was to see if there had been a definite solution to the problem, as there was none indicated. I will change the switches, and try another CFL. Thanks for your advice, much appreciated.
