I think cheapo lamps is the issue. Plus they do get very hot and its a small lamp and fitting so heat doesn't dissipate well. Strangely I've had jobs where they blow quite regular then going back to completed jobs and customer says they have had no problem, lamps seem to last for ages.

Whats the difference between a cheep an expensive light?

(Don't say price I know your thinking it)

But theres no much to a lamp I would of thought they would all be manufactured to a similar standard.

Is the transformer is OK?

Could it be over-volatge form this unit? Just to check, have you measured it?

Just a thought, worth looking at.

And you'd be right thinking that, but sometimes it doesn't matter what type of lamp you fit.
