12v lamps blowing

Evening All,

Has anyone got the foggiest why 12v lamps would blow regulary? there are 3 in one bathroom. i have not tested anything yet, just spoke on phone.

i thought loose connection maybe.

any ideas?

Cheap lamps if not loose connection.

its often a dodgy connection between lamp & holder. move it around and it may light up again. failing that, cheap lamps

I think cheapo lamps is the issue. Plus they do get very hot and its a small lamp and fitting so heat doesn't dissipate well. Strangely I've had jobs where they blow quite regular then going back to completed jobs and customer says they have had no problem, lamps seem to last for ages.

Is the transformer is OK?

Could it be over-volatge form this unit? Just to check, have you measured it?

And you'd be right thinking that, but sometimes it doesn't matter what type of lamp you fit.

cheaper uses a lower quality filament
