Now, now Andy, you know that we all have to pretend that the voltage is 230. Did some tests last week , voltage was 250.
last three premises; 252 247 and 249

Hi all, no moved house late last year and was realy busy at work, then PC got a virus and had to format hard drive and lost all my favorite sites, only just got round to sorting it, but i am back now CJS
Doctors pretty good at sorting viruses.

:Welcome: back

about voltages, instead lowering them down, they just say they did lol just to keep everyone happy, by the regs the difference is set up as 10%up and 6%down aroun/about if not mistaken :Blushing so 230 +10% is 253V and 230-6% is 216.2V if that make sense

Just a political fiddle with the tolerances so that we can say that we're "officially" 230V, even though for all practical purposes we're still 240V +/-6%.

They've done a similar thing across the Channel in order to claim an official 230V standard, just at the other end of the tolerances, since France was nominally 220V.

with the voltages, everything changed on paper, but in reality, nothing was changed

so why didnt this apply to wiring colours - i.e on paper we use dark, dark & dark, but in reality still use RYB...
