Hi, was wondering if anyone can clear this up for me, i am currently in my 3rd year of college (nights) training to become an electrician on the course - City & Guilds 2330 Level 3 Certificate electrotechnical technology

My next course i was thinking of doing was the - City & Guilds 2391-10 - Inspection, testing and certification of electrical installations.

However its says that i need to have completed the City & Guilds 2382 17th Edition.

I was under the impression i was currently already getting trained to 17th edition in my current course 2330 or am i wrong and it isnt classed as that qualification???

So do i need to do - 2330 then 2382 and then 2391-10 ??

Or can i go straight onto 2391-10 when i finish my last year of 2330 ??

thanks guys

So i guess 2382 is my next step then :) anyone know if i have to have the level 3 nvq to do the 2382 or 2391-10 ??

You're trained to 17th standards by doing the 2330 and you could do the 30 question (update) exam once finished level 3. However the short course is being scrapped so you may just have to do the full course (I'd ask your college), if you do i'd try and do it now as it makes the level 3 exams (302/3 written much easier)

There's no barrier of entry to 2391-10 if I was you i'd try and do it around the sametime as your lvl3 practicals as everything will be fresh in your mind (The 2391 practical isn't much harder than 2330 lvl3 practicals)

I am in last stretch of level 3 (few months left), in the process of 17th edition course and in /march start 2391, so by June will have 17th edition course, 2391 and level 3 sparky.
