Hi all I'm new to this site and was wondering if someone could answer a question of mine.

I'm a jib time served electrician and want to be graded as approved. I understand for this I have to obtain 2391 which I am looking at doing but this course is finishing and changing to 2395 yes?

I have read that the only difference in the 2394 and 2395 courses is that the 2395 includes periodics so there no point doing the 2395 but isn't the 2394 course the equivalent of the 2392? So therefore would not be accepted by the jib for approved grading? I know the jib is not to everyone's liking these days but I work for a jib company and one of the reasons I want to become approved is for a wage rise seen as it looks like we're going into a fourth year without one! But also to keep improving and learning more!

Sorry for long winded OP but just after some words of wisdom;)

A colleague has told me that the 2395 is only

necessary if the candidate wants to do the

periodics.

The 2392 is updating to 2394, by the inclusion

of three-phase testing.

This means, according to my colleague, that full

testing on all new installations including 3 phase

is covered by the 2394.

HTH and I am sure that my colleague is correct.

From a previous post.

Thanks for the replies, would I need 2395 to be graded as approved for jib or would they accept 2394 only?

Not yet was just putting it out there to see if anyone knew. Think I'll give them a call tomorrow.
