Do as many past papers as you can to get the hang of questions and then apart from the Earth fault path which you have to draw from transformer to fault and the back along the Earth return path and label all the parts, and having to calculate cable lengths from given amounts revise as I don't think hardly any questions from past papers came up in my exam oh and good luck CJS

I am suprised nobody has mentioned the OSG or the two books from "Amicus Union". They are well worth a mention.

yeah bought that book. it is good. was fine with the example tests they gave me but the exam i had threw in a lot of things I wasn't banking on.

week with him going over questions.

was the earth fault loop impedance path

with diagram and labelled in there.

certificates, gs38, rcds, type of tester to use for certain tests and range.IP ratings, safety notices......

Section B was ok too, easier scenario than Id expected and most of the questions aimed towards the testing process ie

Quite a few rcd questions, additional protection for and all that.

calculating Zs and confirming conformity...

I see. What are the ranges guys. So many ranges given. I will have one in my 302 or 303, no doubt.

oh right sorry .... Ill try again :coat

in the examiners report it does mention about candidates mixing up.... acceptable test results for a main bonding results (in the order of 0.05ohms)

with another question asking for the Range of a low resistance ohms meter. (20ohms range)

and the same for an elfi tester Range (200ohms)

This goes back to the old Avo analogue meters and the like when you had to manually select the test Range (Sensitivity) of the meter.
