Today is when thousands of brits woke up ( the storms were 25 years yesterday) to see the devastation of the storms that Micheal Fish told us on BBC weren't going to happen. It took the roof off my flat and dropped it on my car.

25 years ago :shakehead i'm getting old.

I had only recently bought my first house.

It blew two of my fence panels down.

I wish I had been into wood burning stoves then, would have been a bumper year for firewood.

I'll try dig a picture of an escort van with a tree right through the centre of it flattened. I was 8 and remember it well. No fence panels left anywhere. 25 years ago ffs

If I recall correctly five of the famous oak trees in

Sevenoaks in Kent were blown down.

The place is still called Sevenoaks.

I had to travel to Liverpool for work. I chose the

bus.

Its ok, it buffed out.

The events coincided with a Stock Market crash, when

the cost to earnings ratio was exceeded and computers

in all of the Stock Markets around the world were set

to "sell" automatically if the value af any one commodity

or stock item fell by an arbitrary value.

Scary.

I was in a different country, :|
Same here...........tail end of 87 went something like, Germany , Canada.... with Dec being the begining of a few months worth of hide and seek around County Armagh.

depending what month the hurricane was i was either still a bun in the oven, or i was causing him sleepless nights

It hit home (the age thing) when my eldest last term took some of my (West watching the East boarder patrol) photos in to school. They were having a history lesson on the whole BAOR, East/West Germany & the iron curtain.
