In the 17th edition the table mentioned what are these cables just armoured with no armourings inside them with the insulated conductors inside them? While im at it tables 4e1a,4e2a,4e3a,4e4a are 90 degrees cables will I ever need these and what are these used for? all I ever work with is 70 degrees singles ,t+e and armoured

I would have to guess that your title means 4D3A?

These are what the table says, single core armoured cables, copper conductors, thermoplastic insulated rated @ 70 deg C, with non magnetic armour.

I don't understand what you mean by "just armoured with no armourings inside them"?

That statement makes no sense to me.

You will probably find that most of the armoured cables you use will be 90 deg C rated, XLPE to BS5467 rather than PVC to BS 6724, it is just that you can't use them at this rating as it is doubtful your terminations will be rated @ 90 deg C.

Again not sure what you mean, will you ever need them?

You will need them if you use the cables to which these tables refer.

Well, i think......

......that the OP  means sheathing and insulation and he is getting confused// using incorrect terminology.  For.

Armouring

sheathing

insulation

there is no mention ( luckily ) of

serving

bedding

Only last week I was using some 400mm^2 aluminium armoured singles on a job...........so thats the non- magnetic bit for you

I meant an armoured cable with no actual armourings inside them just copper with insulation round the copper

You can't "get" an armoured cable without armouring otherwise it would not be armoured would it!

You are now getting me even more confused by your statements!

An armoured cable that was not armoured with copper cores, insulation & sheathing would be say "meter tails", but these are not armoured.

Yes I get it none magnetic armoured , just use this for alluminium conductors thanks

No it is copper cored (conductor) cable with non-magnetic armour, now this is more likely to be aluminium, but, as long as it is not ferrous material then it is non-magnetic.

Aluminium cored (conductor) cables are elsewhere in the tables.
