Are you really convinced that a c type will not be taken out by a blowing lamp. People tell me they have had to replace cartridge fuses in consumer units when lamps have blown. I have only ever replaced a b type breaker with a c type once most people really are not bothered by having to reset a circuit breaker.
My parents old house that's exactly what we used to do. No great hardship.

old lady, db mounted at ceiling height.

the q should be why not fit a c? as long as the zs is ok.

why fit a b,

im aware that a C6 may be tripped by a failing lamp, but its rare.

a B6 tripping when a lamp fails in almost guaranteed

whilst you or me may not be too inconvenienced by having to re-set MCB, i have been called to a number of houses with 'my lights dont work', only to find that its a failed lamp tripped the B6 and the old people dont know what to do

now imagine if this was your family (and you were not a sparky)
