That's one big installation!!!!!

But just because it has 80 circuits doesn't mean that they use more electric,,, 4 people tend to use 4 peoples worth of electric, no matter how big the house;)

I used to to a lot of maintenance on a large detached country house that was operating as a care home.

That had a 3 phase supply and 3 phase DB that fed at least 6 single phase DB's in the main house, and 3 more in an outbuilding converted as 3 self contained units.

So I'll bet that one had more than 80 final circuits.

No its not a record - a 'Record' is a round black plastic thing with a hole in it

(Apparantly the old ones are the best!)

i have 21 circuits does that count does go upto 80 ish when i plu all the chrimbo lights in :innocent :slap

Thanks everyone for all your comments !. I finished the PIR yesterday, it took me 7 full days to cover 83 circuits. The report was 28 pages long, 70 observations/ recommendations of which 11 were cat 1's, ie, access to live connections !..... I used the diversity formula that is in the OSG to calculate maximum demand and got 479A !..... duh ? maybe I did it wrong... mind you I think the DNO service fuse has popped a few times, I wonder why... ha ha !.

Nice one,,,

Personally I don't like the diversity guide in the OSG, especially for large installations..

IMHO you'd have been better off using a data logging clamp meter:O don't ask me where to get one though (esp on IOM) ;)

I agree ! it had 15 ring mains for a start but I'm sure that does'nt necessarily mean that more portable equipment is going to be used there than in any other house. There are only two people, a couple, living in this monster of a house ! (excluding the live in butler) The lady of the house is presently having a

Am a marine engineer working on a 32m boat, distribution boards in each cabin, with pumps and fans etc and everything else I counted 106 circuits! Has taken me 4 weeks to go through it all
