After doing remedial work on a periodic, how do you go about stating the installation is satisfactory? H&S are hammering local takeaways and they need some proof that the installation satisfactory after the remedials have been done. Do you guys just give a covering letter to state which work has been done to bring upto standard?

I'd just note on the EIC in the work carried out box "Rectification of faults as noted on page X of PIR XXXXXXX (items x, x, x, x, x, x, x & x)" and then state what I did to carry out those repairs...

Or you could issue an EIC and PIR, but I'd want to charge extra for the un-necessary PIR

thanks good idea, but some work doesn't need an EIC or MWC.

I used to do the remedial work for someone who was buying and letting out properties, the letting agents wanted a PIR with nothing on the notes before letting it. I'd note that the work was completed on the PIR and mention it in the invoice. No-one ever came and complained. Probably depends on who is checking them, maybe get in touch and ask them what they will accept.

As an example??

The only things on a PIR are non-compliances with regs. When I can, I try to put reg. numbers next to each observation. If it didn`t comply with a reg, and now it does (other than things like missing blanks (and I`d just fit them, rather than marking them down) it will almost always require a cert., or be so obvious as to negate a requirement for seperate notification.
