Alarm fusing

Hi,

I'm changing a board where alarm has been plugged into socket but want to run the alarm straight into board off 6a mcb. Don't have manufacturers instruction to see if fuse needs to be 3a. Should be ok. Any thoughts?

3A will be fine Matty,,

Just make sure you use an un-switched fused spur

would be nice to see a spur next to it matty but no big deal. 6a covers the supply cable i suspect and 99% of systems have internal fusing anyway

why not get a 3A mcb?

Alarms mostly have a fuse before the transformer anyway, but is manufactors spec for 3 amp. Is it in the alarm regs, to have an unswitched F/S?

Am i correct in thinking its a reg for fire alarm panels?

Ah not sure, i thought was just easier Than explaining not to spur of socket etc if there's a 3a fsu then doesn't matter what it's spurred off
