Also in June's ed. of Professional Elect. is an interesting article by an NICEIC guy ( Interestingly named Tony Cable)

It dicussues the various editions of the Regs. and has a reprint of the first edition in 1882, which contained 21 regs. Pehaps we should go back to it !!!

The requirement to bond kitchen sinks went away 20 years ago.

The term ..Live was changed to ...Phase.....now to.....Line ...what do all sparks call it ?...............Live !

was pricing a job the other week for an extension. plumbit was already there removing some pipes, and i was talking to homeowner & builder. earthing got mentioned, asked where water/gas was (both near DB at the other end of house), them plumbit tries to be clever and asks why im not taking an earth to the sink! politely told him it hasnt been a reg since 1992 and to STFU and get on with his job. (of which, he was doing quite badly to start with!)

I had same argument regarding 'bonding every ppie within the entire universe under a boiler' asked him to show me the relevant Reg in BRB...still waiting

Also had a local AC tell my mate that it was a new 'Law' that all outbuildings HAD to have an earth rod
