Hi all,

My name is Wams, well not exactly just the initials off my full name. I live in Gateshead up here in the North East. I've been studying to become an electrician since 2008 and my final installment, hopefully to my portfolio is the 2391 which starts next week.

Firstly, before introducing myself I posted a thread a couple of days ago but under the wrong category I would like to thank the Admin Team for re-directing my thread.

The only experience I've had was fitting solar panels in Nov, Dec last year, so no!

If you don't have experience no on-ones interested!

Yeah, unfortunately for you it is true.... Even more so that you have only experience with solar, and your gonna battle with the non experienced lads and lasses like yourself that are willing to work for free just to gain it..... That's okay if your young and learning whilst living at home with parents and no responsibilities but if you have to earn then it's not an option...

Have you tried"prostituting!"yourself to local firms??? Even if weekends had to be done... No pain, no gain my friend.....

Welcome to the forum wams. Good luck with the 2391. If you put in the time to study and revise then the theory side shouldn't be a problem to you. What you need however is some hands on experience preferably working on 3ph installations and to possibly go with an experienced sparky that tests 3ph dist boards.comes in very handy for your 2391 practical exam.
