Been asked to install a couple of digital Wi-Fi thermostatic controllers for two towel rails product is : https://www.nwtdirect.co.uk/electric-controllers-and-timers/3089-black-wi-fi-digital-touchscreen-thermostat-timer-for-electric-towel-rails-radiators.html

Question is although in pics for this shows flex going directly to heater. My preference for ease of wiring, possibly improving remote control signal and connection would be to spur off of ring outside bathroom, from this spur to controller and then wire into bathroom and just connect flex into connection plate. To me I can't see why this isn't fine just want to check am I missing something with these type of controllers. Thanks

Can I counter this with another dumb ass question??

This is a programable thermostat with a touch screen interface.  WHAT has that got to do with wi-fi which is a wireless data system?

I don't see any issue with remote mounting with a flex outlet plate, BUT it needs to be in the same room as it's a thermostat.  Put it outside the bathroom and the thermostat bit will never work as it won't sense the room temperature.

And when you place it in the bathroom be careful about zones as it’s only IP 20

Dave, it describes itself as Wi-Fi enabled so I take this to mean it just connects to internet for better adjustment of settings via the remote control. One of reasons thought might be better to be located outside for improved signal but this might not be a factor. Where the thermostat is concerned I didn't think it monitored room temperature just the actual temp of towel rail.

Do the towel rails support this?

Just checked out online documentation Murdoch does seem like settings are adjustable to take in room temp so would be silly of me to put outside 😬 I thought point of them was just to warm bloody towels up things getting to fancy for me lol reality is more like home internet controlled heating system

Bottom line is that a towel rail will never heat a room up ..... there is simply not enough heat out put
