Steps,

I would never rely on the info on that drawing, to make any mods, the info is shit to non existent when it comes to the detail that is being asked.

Is the resistance value of the pot inverted when it gets to the controller? etc.

We don't know.

The value of the kit I normally play with I would not make that sort of guess.

Shout is anyones but mine in this case with the info I have to date.

I can solve this but not with the information I have access to so far.

Hi Paul,

Sorry to sound thick, but what does "Is the resistance value of the pot inverted when it gets to the controller" mean in simple terms??

Someone suggested to me that i could keep the 4k7 pot, and put a 4K resistor in parallel with it and achieve the same thing, any idea if this is correct?? I would like to use the proper pot if i could, but i can only find one that is suitable, as it has to go in a confined space, and, needless to say, as i want one, RS are out of stock!!! Here it is; http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/potentiometers/7560164/

I was wondering if i could use a smaller wattage one, but i do not know the wattage of the one in the set, only that it is only physically small about 16mm square perhaps?? I was wondering if this one would be ok http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/potentiometers/5225197/

What would be the best sort of pot?? a plastic film one, or a cermet one, or a wire wound... I have not a clue!! Say in general what are the best quality ones??
