Basically I have a Vaillant combi and if the room stat is above 22ish. The boiler tends to cut out before the stat reaches Satisfied. I'm guessing the return is 'close' to the flow and so boilers internal stat is kicking in (its set to full). So, this would lead me to believe that my rads must be undersized (all singles) and that they cannot radiate the heat enough.

Does this sound plausable???

Radiator sizes are calculated on various factors, BTU & KW ratings of the radiators, size of the room, number of external walls etc.. I think the information you provided is not sufficient to make any judgment regarding appropriate size or not.

Doc H.

Agreed. If you search "radiator size calculator", (I think?), it provides the link to a calculator telling you the necessary BTU of your rooms. You can then choose rads which meet or exceed that figure; or search your rad sizes to find the BTU output.

Remember that a "single" rad is not the same as a single rad with rear fins (P+ iirc?)

Ditto the above colleagues..

even one of Wickes self-help leaflet things used to have a table on the back for rough rad size calculations..

IIRC it may even have been called choosing your radiators!

But as KME says there are pluming/heating supply website with on-line calculators as well..

Thanks chaps. Will get on the calcs during the festive season (when the toolbox comes in from the van to get my tape out lol ;) ).

I feel sure some require pimping up. The calcs will tell all though.
