hello, why would smokes start to beep at intervals? i have checked the battery and its fine, power is ok too.

any ideas?
Normally it is the batt.

I once had some which used to beep sporadically after they were activated apparently it was to indicate that they were activated, press and hold the test button it should reset it;)

See if it stops now

I wonder if it could have some other power source? Strange:_|

thats next!the bloody thing, it goes off when i burn, well not even burn someting in the grill in the next room, but when the fire blows back and fill the room with smoke it doesnot go off:_|
This is probably because they are different particles that make up the smoke.

Unless you have lithium batteries hidden in them, when you remove the battery, this kills them dead.

Whenever i have this problem i dont even bother fault finding. If a new battery doesnt cure it, i replace them.

Are you sure it is this Smoke alarm thats beeping?

Had this a while ago and eventually found an old battery only alarm in a cupboard that had been taken down and the battery left in!

By any chance are they the AICO (Ei Proffesional) ones?

Installed loads of these for the council a few years ago and we allways came across some that would constantly bleep. Had to replace them in the end!
