I like this forum and have used it many times.

however I will say be very careful if you wish to use some members based on their postings. I had some very good contracts and employed some forum members to carry out these works, one member was very efficient the other was nothing more than a fly by night who should be only left alone with any electrical installation under strict supervision .

GH, I wouldn't expect anything less, just like the contracting world theres people who excell in their job and people who do enough to get by or blag it.

I heard you had serious problems as a result of a certain member but nothing more, i would like to think i have done a good job for the members i have worked with and have found those i have met to be extremely good at their jobs and generally nice people. Again sorry to hear you had problems GH.

I remember your problems M8 Nice to see you posting again .

Sorry to hear that.

There are loads of people that can 'talk a good job'...that is why I never offer advice , or butt in on a conversation in the wholesalers etc. I just prefer to stand back, smile inwardly, and act thick. I am F good at all 3 of these skills, it comes with 35+ years of experience and practice. ...stay as numb as you can for as long as you can..... :coat

I've done even longer at acting thick Kerch, I think its finally sunk in .........I am thick !!!! Wet Fish:C

Also I keep quiet at Denman's counter now , there were two 19 yr old sparks ( New van,Sparky type tool vests etc) discussing a fault they had, lighting earth wire that gives a tingle, lights a neon which then fades out , lights a Voltstick etc . I suggested it was disconnected somewhere and the voltage was induced from the Twin/E . Just offering some advice .....they looked at me as if I was a Martian ...obviously no communicating skills with anyone over age 20 who wasn't constantly texting on his EyePlod ... turned and deaffed me out.

Another guy, much older , NIC, self employed , known each other for years at the counter , he says he's having to fit an RCD to the lights in a toilet, at a house (pre 17th) "Why is that" I say . "All that water " he says "You have to" "First I heard of that one " I say. "Well you need to brush up on the Regs then, and its an NIC rule " says he .

So now I do a Kercher !

He does mostly industrial work , but thats no excuse really.

Another guy there , own firm , employs about 5 blokes , mentions the new EICR certs . I said I'd just issued two old PIRs as the new ones were not on the van but PIRs were . To me its not a big deal ...we'll all be dead one day and no one will give a $heet one way or the other .

He nearly lost control of his bowells , couldn't believe I'd done such a terrible thing , "You'll be in trouble" he said .

Oh Yeah ! Like from who ?? I don't get some guys . P'raps its me ? Probably is !!

I had someone trying to tell me that you HAD to TT caravan parks,,, couldn't even use TNS:O

The thing is he does loads of work on a local park and is seen by a few guys as a bit of an expert,,, he even tried to show me the reg in a RED onsite guide
