Got my Niccy re-assessment in a couple of weeks and realise that I need a copy of the big green book. Anyone have one to sell cheap or know where I might get one at a sensible price and not the kind of money jokers on Fleabay are asking. Also, anyone know if I need the accompanying OSG for the assessment as my current copy (wherever it is) is the red version.

I am an AC and have only ever been asked for BGB [or whatever the colour of the week is],  NICEIC Inspection and Testing book, Tech manual ...which is now online, along with whatever else I have been doing BS wise 5839, 5266 etcetcetc   EAWR memorandum [free online]

Bloke on the 'net flogging moody BGBs..................just saying

You also need the current GN3 . You should have had these last year ?
No, weren't needed last assessment as my usual assessment date is Dec so last assessment was Dec 2011 and the update wasn't in force until Jan. For some reason my assessment is a few weeks late this year but now I need the various bits and pieces and don't fancy buying to have it sit in the van until the next Niccy assessment.

few weeks late... my assessment is 4 month late at the moment... although it did take elecsa 2 1/2 month from payment to actually arranging assessment, which i then had to put back...

Maybe we, as a forum, should just buy all copies of everything and then forum members could just book them out for assessment days?

If they are on consecutive days with the same scam provider we could also have the assessor bring them with him

Think of the time it would save....

Think of the conversation

YOU to assessor

"have you got an on site guide with you?" "no?" " what kind of assessor are you for gods sake il have to charge you for that non compliance" "£300 ..yes I accept visa make sure payments made or I won't take anymore calls from you and as a scam provider you will be deleted from my records so no more £400+ next year if you don't pull yer finger out"

Hahahahahahahahaha now you're talking!!

Mine came forward over the last 4 years - until now and it is 8 weeks late (not that I am complaining). Biggest waste of the assessors and my time anyhow!

These  are the rules and regulations you need to work to.

If you can't afford to  buy them   the I have to question your business  model

FYI

You CAN have "electronic" copies - our AE doesn`t care what format, as long as you have `em.

Though I must admit, I like to have the physical object - much easier to find stuff........................

Oh don't be silly. My business model actually is pretty good thanks, been going a few years, have a few guys work for me and turn in a decent profit - not that I have to explain myself to anyone lol. Thing is, I am tight and probably use the regs book once a year (&OSG) and the frequency the regs change gets my back up so I object to paying that amount for a couple of dashboard ornaments!

Ok, found someone on Fleabay who is knocking out .pdf versions of the Regs for peanuts. Any views on if the assessor will accept the regs on my phone? They are happy to see the EAWR in electronic format so I can't see why not. Also, many publishers of 'academic' books are turning to 'e-books' to publish work now.
