Anyone else heard that we may suffer power outages next year as the network can't cope with the demand or am I talking rubbish

cheers

Erm.........I guess then if you took out the contribution that domestic solar PV and low energy fittings are making to lessening demand we would would actually be in a far WORSE state!

Something fundamentally wrong somewhere. I presume then that these big foreign companies will keep gradually upping the prices until the government is forced to hand over the remainder. A bit like what happened with the black cab firm. Why is that "they" can make money but "we" can't. Can't see that we were any worse off when everything was nationalised tbh. I've said too much the black helicopters will be coming for me, hang on I can hear the sound of rotor blad......................

The post office shares were low and limited, so that big business pies that politicians have got their fingers in, were able to buy easily as soon as the share price started to go up.  Which means foreign investors will now own the post office.

Get ready for price hikes on stamps etc.   It was only the post office keeping prices down between competitors.

With email and other communication not sure by putting up prices they will do themselves any favours and for packages there are plenty of alternatives.

Renationalise the lot, just take it by force. Tory ******* have sold everything just to make money for them and their banker friends. Oh, and why will they NEVER  get us back out of europe??? Because they all want to do a kinnock and get their entire family jobs when they are unelectable here...

john...

I blame Gordon Brown, He wouldn't lend foundries in Sheffield money to build components for nuclear power stations we would have been sorted for making power stations on the cheap :) They still take freakin ages to build mind.

That, the hippies.....and Chris Hune

As for the EU why on earth would you want to end  a bottomless money pit with no accountability???

My 2p.

Throw your flat cap away, that's the best thing you can do.

Stamps overpriced because you have people walking about posting through your letter box getting full sick pay, 6 months holiday a year, clothes supplied albeit shorts, fantastic pensions and all for about 4 hours work, get rid of all the deadwood and offer a competitive service and that's the only way it should be.

Perhaps we should start with renationalising the government, maybe they'd be in touch with the hardworking people then? They seem so far detached these days that they may as well be in another country.

No Matty you are NOT talking rubbish.  There is a definitely a greater

liklihood of sustained blackouts this winter, higher than ever before.

I remember the blackouts of late 1970 when the power workers used

the "rolling blackout" to let the government of the day know just who

was boss.  Heath had won in June of that year and things were hardly

going his way.

As for the sale of the Royal Mail, Gideon George Osborne had a huge

hole in his budget and he had to fill it with money. Political expediancy

trumpeted as a "good thing" for the "shareholder democracy".

Just a shame that a lot more people did not have the hard cash to put

up as the minimum £750.00 to but a share allocation and yes, Royal

Mail WAS undervalued.

The spectre of Gideon George Osborne in China fills me with dread.

As if we did not have sufficient nameless horrors from eastern Europe

running the criminal gangs of Britain, we now have the spectre of the

triads roaming the streets.  With a bit of luck they will encounter each

other, engage and.....hopefully act out an example of Mutually Assured

Destruction.

my mate is a postman. He gets the normal holiday entitlement 28 days i think.  He has to book all his holidays  in january but has to take turns in priorities so that too many postmen are not off at the same time.    So 6 months!  where did you get that from?

Shorts provided?  I get my uniform provided as well.  Whats the problem?
