Hi,

Was round a customers house doing a board change today, easy bonding takin out old mem rewireable with asbestos flash pads 4 way and two other small rewireable boards into one 10 way. 7 circuits in all. 2 rings, 2 lighting circuits, alarm, boiler and shed. I charged

Do any of you do a PIR (newbie terms EICR) before the board is changed out of interest ?
I always fully test before doing the board change, before disconnecting anything to make sure the rcds will hold lol :)

Chris, you say about bg having set prices, I do not doubt that you follow this set out guidelines as an employee, but from personal experience bg originally wanted to charge my old landlord for a 10w split without bonding,

I dunno about their pricing, but I do know they try to get work that isnt needed,

I told this story before about them coming to look at our boiler, and he looked at the CU while he was there,

I was at work, the wife was home, he pulled up so many faults it was scary, the wife told him it was recently rewired and he said it must have been a cowboy to leave it all wrong like that, I had just rewired the house, but the missus said nothing,

anyway, I came home, the missus had texted me the script, I just spoke to the guy for a bit, acting the dumb ripped off householder worried about his safety,

asked him to check the 'dodgy' socket in the spare room,(office where my certs were hanging, along with other paperwork),

I went out the back for a cig and I heard the front door close, :slap
