Customer has a boiler that has been condemned by British Gas. In a bathroom; was fed by a 13A socket outlet. They will not reconnect a new one without a better electrical supply - fair enough. Would an FCU in the cupboard below the boiler position be adequate? I would rather not install it here, but without trashing the tiled bathroom floor it seems the most appropriate position. Thoughts please chaps. Cheers.

Just change the socket outlet with a fused spur and you will have no problems.

The reason they condemned it was because with a socket outlet any appliance could be connected to the supply.

Is the Supplementary and /or RCd protection adequate ? as you seem to suggest you are relocating the wiring run.

They would not have the equipment or training to test for this, trust me.

From the original post the only problem is the supply being from a plug, if this was changed to hard wired then I would see no problem.
