i dont see the problem disconnecting one side making it safe putting the cu cover back on then using the martindale ??????

wander lead method does that not leave the cu open ??

leaving the cu exposed to the customer ???? unless there is 2 of you

swings and round abouts mate

No as you could trace cpc so no need to even open it. apart fromt he flap to switch off the mcb.

with ref to the 25A mcb to fit an MK board, If you have a CEF local to you, they do a range of mcb's at my local branch called MCG and these come in 25A. Have used many of these mcbs and not had any problems. If fitting on a standard mk busbar you just need to trim 5mm off the said connection point on busbar. HTHMacca
I know this is dredging up an old thread, but having been checking that a 25A MK MCB is available I noticed this rather poor reply.

Sorry to criticize [especially on my first post], but fitting circuit breakers of a make different to that of the consumer unit is something best avoided and never advised to be done.

Neither the manufacturer of the MCB or CU would accept responsibility if there was a problem with such a setup, which in the least worst case might be a tripping circuit, with the worst cases being fire or loss of life.

Insurance companies have been known to go to properties where electrical fires have broken out and get the CU and cables connected to it removed for

I think I will need shooting then I generally use TD line RCBO's in MK boards as they are less than half the price of MK. Getting back to the original he could use a TD line as they are physically the same so no busbar modification would be necessary. Are you saying even though a TD line RCBO is exactly the same design as an MK RCBO and probably made in the same factory I shouldn't use it as it has a different label? :Welcome: to the forum though.

People worry too much sometimes, don't see it much these days but there was a time when I kept seeing the new SqD Mcb's fitted to the older boards, and the only way they would fit was up-side down, now that's what I call bad.

Different makes providing they profile the same, it's better than nothing or a new board.
