Hi all,

Need one of them bush spanners... What is the best sort to get???

I was leaning towards ck, as i have a ck hacksaw and it is far far superior to the eclipse ones [Formerly great,, but now chinese crap one suspects..]

john

Never liked them. To many makes of bushes and never really fit well in my experience. Pipe grips - jobs a goddun.

Have you lost your hammer & blunt screwdriver then Apprentico ?

I posted a piccy of the "Bush King" ages ago .    Not too useful as it will only fit bushes that actually have some metal in them .

Not EXACTLY Es but there are a set of Metrinchs which would do at a pinch if pushed. But NO actual Es
:slap

was actually a really good excuse for me to buy a new 'normal' socket set when I needed to do the wifes rear brake pads,  :)

needed some special sockets most socket sets didnt have, and a multi had them on offer,  :D

I've the Bush King "double ender" (from TLC I think) and get by with it but always think it a bit "slippy" if the hex on the bush isn't that meaty (cheap).

Often wondered if I could turn down a couple of thin wall sockets and use with a Zyklop 5 deg ratchet or..............

I've got the Bush King (and Locknut King) and found it didn't take long to start opening up and slipping. Needs a bit of gentle teasing back into place and tacking a few welds here and there, and then filing square again. Probably would have helped if I had stuck a weld across the back of the cut lines from the manufacturing process to stop the 2 corners starting to fold back.

It's one of those tools I will get out if I have a lot of locknuts to do up, for the odd few I tend to just the grips.

Imgot a set off ebay.....bloke in Yorkshire? Makes them.

Full,set including locknut spanners....fit on 3/8" drive

Very good...never had any problems with them

Somebody else on here has a set and they can remember his name...something like Epic Tools i thinkbiggest issue is crapcious bushes and nuts mad too small AND out of cheese

I have a bush king, good, but not with modern cheap bushes!

I have the CK one, with the plastic handle, and the t shaped end, better with modern rubbish bushes, but can still slip.

Then I have the ones Kerch has too.

I'm the same, if it's a lot, or they are seriously critical, or it's awkward, the correct tools come out, else it's "grips".

I gave up on the Bush King long ago TBH ,  grips , pliers,  & (force of habit when trunking etc was the earth path) , always finish big 'uns off with hammer & small chisel .

Same with SWA  glands , water pump grips or hammer /chisel.

I will scrap that idea then!! I had noticed that bushes now are not quite the same as the ancient ones i come across, all chinese **** now like everything else. I feel sorry fro people that end up buying chinese ****** lathes and the like because the decent british ones are all 50 odd years old now. Still better than chinese junk, and to think the tory morons are paying them twats to put up a power station. Chernobyl here we come, [if the thing even works at all]
