I got called out to sort out a tripping RCD the other day. A junction box in a bed of soil was full of mud and moisture.

So stripped it all out, re-did the SWA glands with new ones, Wiska box, with wiska earth clamps, wagos etc.

We turned it all back on and no RCD trip.

Great I thought.

As I went to finish up with the Wiska box I could hear buzzing.

I'm going back to look into it a lot further and potentially redo aspects of it all.

But I don't understand the noise it's making.

You've trapped a stray fly in the box?

or

you've not pushed a conductors fully home through the clamp in one of the wagos.

Magic gel............had some advertising bumph come through the door yesterday about a newer version of the Gel.......waiting to do my garden lights so I can use some to see what its like.

I don't think the new re-usable type will be any good, I cannot see how it will work to form total seal.

The original is superb and totally sealed once poured.

If anyone is using it soon could you do insulation resistance before and after and let me know your findings.

funnily enough every time the PIR was switching it was making a nasty buzzing noise.

took it apart and a melted spider dripped out.

Magic Gelled a few junction boxes and the buzzing pretty much stopped
