I bought a Logik 22" LED TV combo with freeview, DVD etc built in a couple of weeks ago. I wanted it for my home gym for when I am plodding away on the treadmill or bike trainer. I installed on a wall mount and then started using it. The only pproblem is it isnt loud enough when the treadmill or turbo trainer are being used with the volume at 100% its hard to hear. I guess I should have checked there was a headphone output jack or phono out and it could be plugged in to the hi fi (yes I have a hifi in the gym too). I have taken it down, found the receipt and packaged it all up pretty much as it was when I got it.

If I went back to PC world and said I wasnt happy as it wasnt loud enough would they let me change it?

can it be sealed up as if so say you never opened it, should be alright,

Have you had it 3 weeks? From their website:

You have changed your mind

If you change your mind and would like to return your product, we're happy to exchange or refund it as long as:

good luck,pc world are the worst ive seen for returns and customer service, wait till a 17 yr old TECH GUY starts looking down on you when you say the sound isnt loud enough, keep cool... X(

well the box has been opened so no way can I get away with that.

The issue for me is the poor volume level and lack of a headphone jack/ audio out phono

I am not satisfied and its been less than 21 days

You don't have to be satisfied, and unless you specifically asked if there was an audio jack they have no legal requirement to take it back.

Get it back in 21 days and maybe print out the page I linked, just in case!

They must be very popular. I heard that nobody is turning them down.

personally id recommend buying tv's from john lewis or m&s 5yr warranty, customer service second to none and they dont question any fault or reason for return, cost slightly more than you can get in an electrical store but worth it if you add the cost of a 5yr warranty to any tv bought from elsewhere and the customer service, they feel bad if your tv goes wrong, they send out an av company to pick your tv up,they fit a replacement then return your repaired or replaced tv, fit it and tune it,quality stores.. :Salute

Probably not but, if you can make it look like you haven't opened it you may get away with it

+1 for John Lewis as well. Anything electrical is worth buying from there any standard warranty is usually doubled

You will find it almost impossible to get ANY tv now with decent sound.

The trend to ultra small ultra slim tv's means the speakers are an inconvenience. They fit the smallest speakers they can find, often pointing out of the back of the cabinet so you are not going to get good quality loud sound.

Factor in an external amplifier and a decent pair of speakers. your present set should work like that as long as you can get line level sound out of the scart socket.

Beware about headphone jacks. I had one tv that was rather stupid in that it put up a little "headphone" icon in a corner of the screen whenever headphones were plugged in. Who designed that and why was a mystery other than they did it because they could.

My newest tv is 5 years old.Oold enough to date from the time they were not afraid to have forward facing speakers that you could see, and were large enough to produce just about acceptable (but not hi fi quality) sound.

What exact model is is?

My big bro used to work for the OFT and I had a mate had a similar situation with a satnav from Halfords - he got it home, didn't like it and Halfords said tough! My bro said they were perfectly within their rights to do so.

I just had look at the PCW site and the couple I looked at (not all of them mind)said they have headphone output. Look at the "Product Details" tab and see what it says - sometimes they get it wrong. If so you're laughing! Just take a printout in.

Alternatively say you specifically said it was for the home gym - then it's your word against theirs though that risks some poor kid of a sales assistant getting in trouble!

There is the "credit card" route assuming you paid for it that way? If you have no joy at PCW then ring the CC company up, say you tried to take it back having been told it should be fine for your home gym. Chances are they'll refund the money and get it back of PCW. I paid

I'm not going to tell any porkies just say I am not happy with it and its not loud enough and has no means of connecting to external amplification. Dave are you saying I can plug something in the scart and get a line out? I thought the scart was only an input. In any case its all boxed up and I'm off in a min so will let you all know how I got on....

SCART is in and out. you can get SCART to phono adapters. they are directional of either in or out, or some have switches to work between the 2

Most tv's do. Sometimes there's a menu option to select what comes out of the scart socket.

And as already mentioned get a scart to phono adaptor that has an in / out switch.

Even an amplified pair of PC speakers will give better sound than the rubbish built into most tv's these days.
