also, as you know its tough times at the moment the more qualifications I can get under my belt the better as it may make me more appealing to future employees. I take your point though theres no substitute for experience.

You can go on and on with getting qualifications. As GH says experience is worth more than any piece of paper. I will only go back to college if they bring new regs out or I have to, I think in a few years time we will be like corg/gas safe and have to go back to college or on a course every five years.

your tutor is talking crap. you must either be part p reg'd to carry out notifiable work or notify LABC in advance. just because youve just completed the course, doesnt mean you can ignore building regs.

having completed the course though does mean you should have enough quals to join a scam though
i spoke to the head of the electrical dept today and he agreed that as we will have done 2330 2&3 it covers the part p course within it?!

part p is a building regulation. it is not a qualification. read the document and it will tell you more.

100% in agreeance here. Batty & GH making sense as usual ( at least this early in the day :) )

As for the part P business - a provider OR pre-notification to LABC are THE ONLY two alternatives for domestic work.

I personally wouldn`t give the 2392 house room - my belief is that it was created for the "5 day wonders", who finished the NVQ level oops with flying colours, but still didn`t have a clue what the test & inspect was really all about. As with GH, no offence implied or intended, its just an opinion.
