At that price I cant see to many being sold, but with forward planning in years to come I wonder if the average supplys could cope with the huge demands being put on those supplies ?
Oddly enough I was thinking about this not so long back. If the government tomorrow said internal combustion engines are banned, buy electric cars or walk there's a huge list of negative points.

  • More CO2 produced making all the efficient cars than would be produced running the old ones.
  • More CO2 produced when everyone charges the cars
  • More CO2 produced when the DNO's have to have more cable manufactured to upgrade the national grid.
  • National grid upgraded
  • Power stations upgraded.
  • Extension leads across roads and drives everywhere, increase in crime.
  • Scrap prices plummet.

As i say not a huge seller at the moment, but the technoligy is proven, how long until the cost is lowered to make it an affordable option, at that time possible boom time for electricans (MAYBE) who knows, how long till then again who knows, how long to the return of the little ace / Rascal type van 200 miles is a decent range for a trades man if most of your work is within a 50 mile radius. Alot of ifs buts and maybes , but possible sign of things to come ?

Weather proof outdoor socket to charge your car/van as you sleep, debit card machines on posts at car parks and at the road side who knows, get in at the bottom before the rush could be a way to make anyone their million ! !

I think fuel cells are the way to go. Recharge time 4 hours. Not very convenient if you want to drive 205 miles.
