Cannot Get Online With Desktop Pc ..any Ideas ?

Laptop is online with Wi-Fi    desktop won't connect .   

Just spent 1 hour with BT man in India  who decides its the lead between hub and PC .changed that  still no good ..just trying shutting down & Start up again .

Can you post some screen shots ?

What errors or screens are you getting ?

Have you tried with a different browser ?

Try clearing the browser cache.

Is the gas getting low,?

Maybe try another couple of turns on the key, careful you don't break the spring tho....

Two TV screen icons in bottom right are usually blue .....they have a red cross through them .

Can't access BT Desktop Help

Have a box asking for Username   &  Password

red x means no network connection, so could well be a faulty cable. and this replacement cable you fitted, its not a cross-over, is it?

Forget bt you may as well be using a hammer!

Have you rebooted router/hub? Swapped ports? where the cable enters back of pc are the lights flashing?

Can you get into the router by using bt.homehub.home thingy?

is it a red cable you have used to try and connect the pc to router with?

I have one came with a BT router, it wont work, apparently they are for some stupid fibre thingie or something and dont work properly with a normal port in a normal hub,

no idea why, but apparently some of them are ok, and some not,  :C

Its a black cable Stepps   with Yellow plugs  each end .  I put the old one back now , still the same .

Praps buy a new one tomorrow.

Ducky I'm thinking it must be my PC or cable  because the Lappy is working on Wi Fi .

so what happened when it stopped working? had you or Brian done anything different? or just working then not working?

another thing to try - do you have a network socket on your laptop? if so, turn off the wifi and plug it in. if it works, its your PC, if it doesnt work its the router / modem

have you got AVG antivirus?

I have on mine and the other day had similar problems, It turned out it was the AVG (It also has a fire wall)

He has been messing around with the settings on your desktop................

I think it may be the ghost of your old van coming back with a bit of a strop cause you got rid of him..

AND got rid of his old racking!!!!

Andy .switched off WiFi  , plugged in yellow lead .lappy is now using cable ......so  problem with my PC you think ?
