Might be a bit late with the reply. carpet possibly fitted by now. But when I fitted carpet in our previous bathroom, I took the old carpet up and the gripper was in small pieces round the pedastal. It had always looked naffe. Instead of cutting the grippers into small pieces, I got a piece of thin ply ( same size as the grippers) and drew a template around the pedastal. Then cut the ply with a jigsaw and pulled the pins from the gripper and put them in the ply. It really made a difference to the finished carpet and as this one is posh, a little extra effort may make it look thoroughly professional.

Good thinking Macc. :Applaud

You have received a scoob off of me for that one. :)

macca,

Will look into that, carpet not fitted yet!

Thank you for the suggestion, I'll measure up the grippers tonight & "pick" up some "scrap" ply from tomorrows job.

Pics will follow, removal of old 48" band resaw, replacement cct, civil works to floor & install of used 36" band resaw, so loads of wood around!

Had visitors Sat & was working Sun, done 1 x 15 hr days & 1 x 12 hr days already this week & now have to do paperwork for a few hours!

Will hopefully finish papering the walls this Sunday, as it looks like I'll have to work Sat.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions & advice, and the offers of loan kit.

It is appreciated.

Don't forget, on completion you must issue the relevant certs and notify building control, (assuming your kazi qualifies as a domestic location).
