Well, all joking aside a sad day today. The old lady would have been 23 in September! Deteriorated this morning quite quickly and appeared in pain hence a trip to the emergency vets. Now chasing mice in the sky.

IMHO All pets...

Cats, Dogs, Rabbits, Budgies, Guinea Pigs, Mice, Gerbils, Hamsters, Fish...  etc..  etc..  etc..

Become part of the family...

And are always sadly missed..

just as with any other family member.!

Thanks all. 

The wife and I have just gone to do the deed and bury the her this evening. Fitting that I took her in as a stray 22 years ago in the rain and it's pouring down now. She's in a cardboard box wrapped in her blanket. Intent was to leave her in that and place her in the MDF coffin the father in law made with his new drill. He said "I've allowed an inch all round!". He's even added a cross on the front and stained it. He's quite proud. Pity her forgot to add for the thickness of the material! Some squashing required. We're laughing and crying here at the same time.

A 6'5" hairy bloke blubbing is not a pretty sight I'm sure. :lol:
