Have been asked to quote for a CCTV system in a smallish car-park. Don't know much about gear so does anyone know of a good guide to installation and equipment???? Any suggestions for pitfalls to avoid would be appreciated aswell.
i do and id be happy to quote for it if you needed the 'professional' on the job :^O :coatdoesnt Badger do this stuff?
That's a flipping good point - had completely forgotten about it - good thing I overpriced to allow for such things.Ask also if you are to supply the signage stating that CCTV is in use or are they to supply it. This signage must be displayed if any recording is to be used in court as evidence, found this out whilst working for a local council when we were having CCTV installed in one off the car parks.
The wholesaler keeps specialists in CCTV, fire alarms etc etc, they're kind of medium sized with about 15 branches. So I think they are OK on the general spec, but its things like I don't want to have to run 230V to 1 power supply per camera, cos that means double the conduit to segreagate circuits. but I'm unsure about running 24V over a max of @150m (reckon 2.5mm cable would do) to serve 7 cameras and whether this would interfere with the beldon cable signals, or indeed work at all. I'll ping you an e-mail of the gear they are trying to sell me.which wholesaler you using, as they wont have the experience needed could you send me the details and i could spec it for you
