And the other problem when you want to get your 10 year warranty they will want to know what trade body you belong to. I suppose you could just not worry about the warranty but if you are spending over a hundred pounds on lights surely you would be better getting somebody in that can sign it off and make sure you get your warranty.

I would like to see insurance companys refusing payouts on fires etc... caused by sub standard installs! if people thought this then they would think twice about doing it themselves.
