Hi all

If i am fitting a fused spur in a commercial/industrial unit for a fire alarm what type of test certificate would i have to use?

Is it a minor works or full test certificate?

Is the spur on its own circuit or a spur from another?

I would guess eic as your adding a new protective device (fuse) but stand to Be corrected cheers

if you are doing mods do an exsisting circuit its MW if a new circuit then EIC

should have its own dedicted supply, never heard that it should have its own DB

Think that depends on the spec noz. Did a school once, where the firealarm spur was fed from one of the ways in the main miniform.

Just that I've seen quite a few with independant CU's (red ones)... maybe there was no room in the existing so they had to add one anyway?!?!

Don't forget to wire it in Fp or equivelant cable.

the red dbs could be used where you have a busbar system at the origin. If you have a mccb board just label the mccb appropriately.

p.s i dont do fire alarms this is based on a few years ago when i worked in schools but thats how it was done then.
